The costumes on Strictly Come Dancing are getting skimpier and skimpier – but no one’s taken to the floor in anything quite like host Tess Daly’s latest outfit.  The presenter, who co-hosts the show with Bruce Forsyth, is appearing in a campaign for the La Senza lingerie chain  Pictures of the 38-year-old mother-of-two will feature on billboards and in all 180 La Senza store windows nationwide in the run-up to Christmas.

Hats off to you, Tess: Strictly Come Dancing host Ms Daly appears in a lingerie campaign for La Senza stores.  And it appears to have taken her no time at all to regain her figure after giving birth in May.

While she had been looking glowing and slender on the show, she looks in even better shape in the adverts – no doubt thanks to clever lighting in the studio.

Luckily there is no hint of the cartoon-like look that was given to model Danielle Bux, wife of Gary Lineker, in an apparent heavy dose of airbrushing in a La Senza advert in January.

But while some might speculate that Tess has been given a more defined waist and concave stomach than in real life, the presenter shed her baby pounds just weeks after giving birth.

La Senza are loving the stunning jewel colours this season. A picture of her playing in the garden in a bikini was posted on Twitter just ten weeks after the birth of Amber. In it Tess showed off a washboard stomach.

In the La Senza adverts, she wears a blue ensemble and a pair of suspenders and smoulders into the camera.

In another shot, she reclines on a chair with a top hat, clad in a sexy pink and black two-piece set.

The campaign is Tess’s first major lingerie campaign in more than ten years.

La Senza said Tess’s Steal The Show campaign, which features her in a showgirl setting with top hat and cane, aims to bring together the two sides of every woman – playful and fun, yet glamorous and confident.

Tess said: ‘As a mum-of-two, I was flattered to be asked to model for La Senza’s Christmas lingerie campaign.

‘It was great fun becoming a showgirl for the day, complete with top hat and cane.’

Lisa Bond, marketing director for La Senza added: ‘Tess epitomises everything the La Senza woman wants to be.

‘She is gorgeous with a great sense of humour and a fabulous sense of fashion.

‘She is also a working mother and we feel our customers will really aspire to the fact that she always looks amazing whilst juggling her family and career.’

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter said she did not go to the gym to get her pre-baby body back in shape.

She said: ‘I haven’t been to the gym, I promise you. I think it’s all to do with breast-feeding. I can feel my stomach contracting as I feed Amber, which firms up everything.

‘I also swim and take occasional yoga classes.’

Gary Lineker is used to the starring role, with his crisps in one hand and a witty line from his mouth but now  he is sharing the limelight with his fiance Danielle Bux.  His stunning lingerie model girlfriend Danielle Bux has been brought on board for the “Do Us A Flavour” campaign to find the nation’s newest favourite flavour – and quite simply, she steals the show.

Gary Lineker got a helping hand from fiancée Danielle Bux in the chilli and chocolate flavour Walkers crisps advert.  In stillettoes and black hotpants, the 29-year-old tinkers under the bonnet of a pink Figaro – while her fiance cheekily tucks into a packet of chilli and chocolate flavour – eh don’t know if I will try that one!  The couple were spotted filming the promo in London back in November and Danielle had to keep covering up in a red blanket to keep warm between takes.

Admittedly, Gary, 48, retakes centre stage for the ads for Walkers’ five other flavours, which kick off on ITV and Channel 4 tonight as he dons a curly moustache and exotic costume to shimmy with Bollywood dancers for the onion bhaji flavour. And he’s plagued by wildlife in the Cajun squirrel promo.

Gary said filming was fun because he got to eat all the crisps – but be careful of thw waist line Gary.  The other flavours are fish and chips, crispy duck and hoisin and builder’s breakfast.    He is set to wed lingerie model Danielle after revealing their engagement in September.  Gary proposed with a cushion-cut solitaire diamond while holidaying on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Danielle, who says she has been on ‘cloud nine’ since their engagement, told Hello! magazine they are now planning a low-key wedding.  She said: ‘We want to get married abroad and somewhere hot.  ‘We want something small and intimate, especially if we’re travelling abroad. But not at Gary’s house in Barbados.

‘I wouldn’t want a massive wedding where I barely know some people and don’t get to spend decent time with family and friends.’  Gary and Danielle, although both already parents, are also considering having children together.

Danielle Bux is becoming a regular on adverts for the lingerie firm La Senza.  Previously written about you can read it here – La Senza.    But in her latest pictures, fans would be forgiven for not recognising her  – after an apparent blast of heavy air bushing.

On the website there are different colours available in red and blue and when you log on it looks the same photo but touched up again and the colour changed.

Daniella Bux appears in another La Senza advert, but looks different to what she usually does.   Danielle, fiancee to football pundit Gary Lineker,  is pictured in a bright lime green bra – said to be part of the chain’s Double Gel Boost range.   But the picture looks like it has been enhanced making her appear almost unreal – too perfect and too touched up.   Danielle and Gary were pictured this week cuddling up on the beach in Dubai.

The lingerie model who is a mere 29 and the Gary who is 48-years old could barely keep their hands off each other as they kissed the shore.  The pair got engaged in September and were rumoured to be planning a Christmas wedding.

A more natural looking Danielle pictured here with Gary at the launch party held by Walkers.   But it seems they have now decided on  Portofino – the same Italian resort that played host to Wayne and Coleen’s lavish wedding last year. Just a few days ago, they attended the launch of six new flavours of Walkers crisps.  Gary, the ‘face’ of the ad campaigns, was there along with Danielle to promote a competition to see which of new flavours the public will opt for.  Flavours included Fish & Chips, Builder’s Breakfast, Chilli & Chocolate, Cajun Squirrel, Duck And Hoi Sin and Onion Bhaji.

La Senza is more than a profitable chain of British lingerie shops.

It is the brand that represents the international aspirations of the $10 billion company behind the huge American lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret. After nearly 20 years as Canada’s number one lingerie line, La Senza has now been rolled out to 45 territories. The British arm has chosen Danielle Bux, Gary Lineker’s fiancée, to front its new promotion, which offers DD-cup bras at the same price as any other bra. La Senza will have its sights set on M&S, where nearly 30 per cent of us still buy our undies, so I went to its Reading store better to understand its British strategy.


The windows All the signs were that the recession had hit the Oracle centre in Reading. I was faced with two routine promotions. The first offered any two chemises from a selection for £25. The second gave you one pair of pyjamas free when you bought another. There was a small sign announcing the arrival of a La Senza jewellery collection, but it was clear from the outset that this store had decided that today’s money lay with the customer focused on value over newness.

Shopability The same story applied throughout – the more specialist products and services, including a new maternity bra and the offer of a free bra fitting, had been pushed to the back behind racks of offers. Pride of place was given to a five-pairs-of-knickers-for-£10 display, some of which had pink pom-poms attached. At least half the product was pink.

Was I being served? Full marks to the girls who worked here. They were the sort you’d want organising your hen party.

Did I buy? I don’t need a pink vest with wake me up at your own risk printed on it. Or the words grumpy but gorgeous written on my bra. So no.

Online lasenza.co.uk launched a blog a few months ago to allow its customers to talk to each other and to the brand. I counted only eight bloggers and all of them clearly worked for the site. This brand is not alone in creating meaningless forums that claim to pass for useful consumer dialogue.

Verdict La Senza Girl came over from Canada recently and was probably unfairly criticised by the media for encouraging young girls to dress sexily. By targeting and focusing on one customer (and her daughter), La Senza is missing the chance to grow to the scale of Victoria’s Secret. The concept is too narrow. This is one brand among many that is having to jettison its higher aspirations to grow its share of the British market and focus on creating value for its current customer. As a result, I don’t see the M&S customer deserting any time soon. Unless she got an invitation to that hen night!

What do customers look for?

A fashion element. We recently did an invitation for a party at Claridge’s – it was a box containing a clock that popped up. It was Harry Potter-esque and mystical – arrival and departure times for the party were like a hologram: the ‘6pm’ morphed into ’12 midnight’. One trend is for invitations to look like books with covers in linen or leather and the invitation information printed inside on one or more pages. We can print on card, satin, denim, metal, Perspex and wood.

Who buys?

Top-end people, celebrities, politicians and royalty who want something special and are willing to spend a bit more. Our bespoke service costs from £8 per invitation for an order of 100.

How did it all begin?

I saw that there was a gap in the stationery market in the late 1980s. We had a concession in Selfridges for seven years. It was so busy it was hard to concentrate, but the right people came through the door. I opened the shop a year ago. Our shopfront is filled with ribbon and invitations hanging from mini-pegs – people can see what we do without having to enter. We’re by appointment only. Sophie, my daughter, designs – she has a different style to me so we complement each other.

Which materials do you use?

I use British paper and fabric manufacturers. We do a 1,700g board, four times heavier then an average invitation card, edged in bright colour with extreme letterpress (in which letters are indented into the paper).

It’s all very tactile. In this country, the heavier the card, the better the party.

Your favourite design?

Nicole Scherzinger, Jessica Sutta, Kimberley Wyatt, Ashley Roberts and Melody Thornton make up this successful girl band and together they worked with Robin Antin to make a range that echoed a sense of Burlesque.
